We’re proud to support our talented people into careers they can really make their own.
Our Sales Executive, Suzanne Brennan has recently celebrated two years with the SVL team.
Prior to joining SVL, Suzanne was keen to build a career in the tech sector, leveraging her vast skills in account management and relationship building.
We caught up with Suzanne to find out how she’s shaped her current role and to hear about her highlights over the last couple of years.
What made you want to work in this industry?
Prior to joining SVL I’d spent over 9 years in the same company, and I knew it was time for a change. I’ve always been passionate about sales and account management, but I was ready to break into a new industry.
The technology sector had always been appealing to me due to the fact its ever evolving, growing and changing. I spent a lot of time building connections in the industry, I then reached out to the SVL team, and the rest is history.
Over the past two years I’ve really loved on the dynamic nature of my role, I’ve really been able to make it my own and I’m regularly presented with opportunities to learn and grow, which is important to me.
What’ve you enjoyed the most about the last couple of years?
I’ve built strong relationships with our clients whilst supporting them through their digital transformation journeys. Our clients trust me and the wider team at SVL to advise on the best solutions to optimise their contact centre’s performance, which gives such a great sense of achievement when we see their results!
As well as working with our amazing clients, I’ve really enjoyed working closely with our partners NICE, Calabrio and AWS. It’s been very rewarding to join forces and provide impactful solutions together.
Everything we do at SVL is a team effort, I love working collaboratively with the wider team! It’s also great to continue learning from each other through each individual project.
What’s a lesson you’ve learned over the last couple of years?
It’s okay not to know something, we can’t be experts at everything.
When I first moved into this industry, I was keen to learn everything, all at once, but it’s just not achievable, especially as technology is advancing so rapidly.
The solutions we provide can be extremely complex, it’s important we work together as a team, and with our partners.
I’ll never be a technical brainbox, but that’s where I lean on the expertise of my colleagues. As I said, everything we do is a team effort.
Are there any key moments you’d like to highlight?
It’s honestly been such a jam-packed two years.
I’ve been working hard on gaining certifications and accreditations in our CCaas offerings NICE CXone and Amazon Connect, both solutions are Gartner Magic Quadrant leaders, so, I’m very proud to have gained several recognitions for my expertise in both.
The reason I highlight this is, it gives me the opportunity to have an agnostic approach when tacking customer challenges. It gives me the opportunity to compare marketing leading solutions, and ensure any solution implemented is the right one for the customer.
I love that I can attend and plan events—it’s one of my favourite parts of the job! Networking is a huge part of what I do, which is perfect since I’m a bit of a social butterfly.
You’ll always see the SVL team at the industry’s top events – The Forum, NICE Interactions, NECCA, Calabrio Customer Connect and CC Expo.
We also take pride in hosting our own SVL events, where customers and industry peers can come together to learn, network, and exchange best practices. So, stay tuned for our next event details —you won’t want to miss it!
Finally, big highlight has also been this years’ Kiltwalk, which we took part in to raise money for The Beatson Cancer Charity. It was such an incredible day, raising funds for a cause that’s close to all of our hearts.
Do you have advice for anyone who’d like to work in the tech industry?
I would 100% say go for it, it’s such an amazing industry with a lot of opportunity. Don’t worry if you’ve not worked in this industry before, step outside of your comfort zone, network, build relationships, educate yourself and find mentors who can offer you guidance, support and insights.
What’s next for you?
I’m very much looking forward to seeing how I continue to grow and develop in coming years. This is such an exciting time for SVL as the company continues to grow in general, it’s great to be a part of that journey.
I’m also looking forward to continuing to work with clients as their long-terms strategic technology partners, especially during the advancement of AI and digital solutions.
